AIRCHECK: The evolution in respiratory protection to keep you protected at all times.
AUGUST 2022
Improving the safety standard in respiratory protection has always been one of our main objectives, which was confirmed by the launch of one of our latest projects, AIRCheck, a device that quantitatively monitors the hermeticity of the AIR FFS990 full-face respirator by constantly measuring the differential pressure.
After three years of research, development, and technological improvement, AIR Safety‘s R&D Department has achieved relevant results, producing a device called AIRCheck, capable of detecting any significant seal leakage in the AIR FFS990 respirator, alerting the user with light signals so that they can take the necessary measures and remain protected at all times.
One of the professionals who participated in the whole AIRCheck development process is Camilo Guzmán, Head Designer and Product Development, who describes it as “a key product for the respiratory protection industry, providing constant and quantitative monitoring, complementing PortaCount and positive and negative pressure seal tests carried out by the user to ensure the proper use of the respirator.”
It is worth noting that one of the main AIRCheck functions is to detect seal leakage and warn the user with a red light if contaminating particles, gases, or vapors may enter the respirator. The user should immediately leave the area and move to a safe zone to readjust the respirator and perform negative or positive pressure seal tests. When the seal is correct, AIRCheck will display a green light, which means that the user can continue working without the risk of inhaling unhealthy contaminants.
Regarding the technology incorporated in AIRCheck, Guzman says that “it works thanks to a microsensor that captures pressure differences. This algorithm is able to size and identify seal leakage by activating positive pressure seal tests and calibrating the pressure capture of the environment where the respirator is used.”
Below we will show you the main characteristics you should know about AIRCheck before using it in your AIR FFS990 full-face respirator:
- Activation of the device with positive pressure
- Fast charging via USB port
- Battery life: min. 12 hours
